About Us

Our History

The First Church of Christ in Granville first gathered in 1744 and called its first minister in 1747. In 1791 the Baptist Church in Granville was formed. In 1937 the two churches decided to come together and operate as a single church. Our current church building was built in 1969.

Why Federated?

The term Federated indicates that we were formerly two churches affiliated with different denominations and have chosen to come together and act as a single church body, while maintaining our affiliation with the two denominations.

Us Today

The Granville Federated Church continues to serve our Lord and the community. While some of our members grew up in the American Baptist Church (ABC) or United Church of Christ (UCC), many others in our church were raised as Catholics or members of other Protestant denominations.

We are an incorporated Massachusetts non-profit organization and govern ourselves pursuant to written and approved Bylaws.
