There is nothing more vulnerable in the world than a newborn human baby. They are completely reliant upon a loving caregiver for all their needs. If hungry someone must feed them, if frightened they need to be held, and if cold they must be clothed.

The poor little things cannot even lift their heads. It is no wonder that Scriptures describe the love of God as a parent to a child. Many references provide this image. The child is totally under the trusting care of a caregiver as we all are to a loving God but are we? Do we truly rely upon Him for all our needs?

The verse that speaks to me of late is from Psalm 3:3. God not only is a shield of protection, but He is also the lifter of my head.

Picture your loving Father, cradling you in His arms. He will continue to lift your head and spirit if you rely upon Him for He is our glory!

Psalm 3:3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
